Associate Clinical Animal Behaviourist in Fife, Scotland
Helping Dogs and Their Families Through Science, Compassion, and Trust
I’m Caroline, founder of Play Paws Rewind and a Associate Clinical Animal Behaviourist under the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC). I hold a Level 6 Advanced Diploma in Applied Animal Behaviour (passed with distinction) and am currently working towards my full APBC membership, reflecting my commitment to professional, science-based practice in canine behaviour.
A Journey Inspired by Rescue Dogs
My passion for behavioural work began while fostering rescue dogs especially Northern breeds, who have a special place in my heart. I discovered a natural ability to connect with dogs in distress, helping them heal and reintegrate into family life. By providing a safe, supportive environment and setting clear, ethical boundaries, I realised that this was more than a hobby it was my calling.
For over five years, I’ve successfully run a dog walking and boarding business in Dunfermline, Fife, gaining invaluable real world experience. This work has deepened my understanding of canine behaviour, body language, and the everyday challenges that dog owners face.
My Behavioural Approach
At Play Paws Rewind, my approach is rooted in ethics and welfare, with your dog’s wellbeing as the top priority. Every plan I create is reward based and focused on positive reinforcement, ensuring that training and behaviour modification are both effective and enjoyable for your dog. I work in close collaboration with veterinary professionals through formal referrals, guaranteeing that every case is supported by medical insight when needed. Above all, my programmes are tailored to the individual needs of each dog and family, recognising that no two situations are ever the same.
By combining modern animal behaviour science with compassionate, dog friendly methods, I help owners and dogs build mutual trust, reduce stress, and improve the quality of life for the entire household.
I am accredited and trained to the highest professional standards, with a specialisation in addressing behavioural challenges such as aggression, anxiety, and fear-based responses. My work spans both in person and remote consultations, making support accessible no matter where you are. With a deep understanding of rescue and rehomed dogs, I bring empathy, patience, and practical strategies to every case, ensuring that every dog has the best possible chance to thrive.
