At Play Paws Rewind, collaboration with veterinary surgeons is at the heart of every behaviour case. Many behavioural concerns in dogs can be influenced by underlying medical issues such as pain or undiagnosed conditions. That’s why every treatment plan begins with a full picture of the dog’s health and history.
Why Refer to Play Paws Rewind?
As a Associate Clinical Animal Behaviourist and member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC), I accept cases exclusively via veterinary referral, in line with the APBC Code of Conduct.
This ensures:
Behavioural work is carried out only when medical concerns have been considered
A joined up, professional approach between behaviourist, vet, and client
The dog’s welfare is safeguarded at every stage
Following each consultation, I provide the referring practice with a summary report and remain available for updates and discussions regarding the case. Patients are treated solely for their behavioural issues; any health concerns are referred back to you for management.
APBC Standards
The APBC requires both Full and Provisional members to work strictly under veterinary referral. This standard protects animal welfare and guarantees that all behavioural interventions are informed by medical context.
As a provisional member, I have demonstrated the academic and theoretical knowledge required for Clinical Animal Behaviourist status, and I am currently building the practical experience needed for full accreditation. All of my work is supported by the APBC and conducted in close collaboration with referring vets.
